PeaceHealth hires a new chief information officer, and others take new roles.
Doug Shirley has been named chief financial officer of ScionHealth, the hospital system based in Louisville, Kentucky.

Shirley possesses over 25 years of experience in healthcare finance and revenue cycle management. He joins ScionHealth after working with the PathGroup, where he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Rob Jay, CEO of ScionHealth, said Shirley was selected after an extensive search and is “the right choice.”
“His operational expertise and proven track record in driving financial improvement and strategic alignment make him a valuable addition to our executive team,” Jay said in a statement.
Shirley's career also includes leadership posts at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ardent Health Services, and Ernst & Young.

ScionHealth operates 85 hospital campuses, including 68 long-term hospitals and 17 short-term acute care hospitals, along with senior living facilities.
Julie Eastman
PeaceHealth hires chief information officer
Julie Eastman has been named the new senior vice president and chief information officer of PeaceHealth.
Before joining PeaceHealth, Eastman served as the CIO for UCI Health in Irvine, California. She also served as the executive director of information services at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and as the vice president of information services at MemorialCare Health System in California.

In addition to her experience in healthcare information technology, Eastman is a registered nurse with experience in critical care nursing.
Eastman will join PeaceHealth on April 21. She will be based at PeaceHealth’s Shared Services Center in Vancouver, Washington.
PeaceHealth, based in Vancouver, Wash., is a non-profit Catholic health system with more than 160 clinics and nine medical centers in the Northwest.
Casey G. Batten, MD
Cedars-Sinai doctor named chief medical officer of 2028 Olympics
Casey G. Batten, MD, a sports medicine specialist at Cedars-Sinai, has been named chief medical officer for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
Cedars-Sinai has been named the official medical provider for the Olympics.
Batten will work with the International Olympic Committee’s Medical and Scientific Commission on all medical services issues. He will work directly with the International Paralympic Committee's chief medical officer.
“I am thrilled to serve as chief medical officer and contribute to the health and success of Team USA athletes and the LA28 Games,” Batten said in a statement. “Cedars-Sinai and I are fully committed to the highest-quality care for athletes, coaches, team personnel and visitors who will come from around the world to Los Angeles for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
Batten is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Rams and works on a host of committees for the National Football League.
Mallik Chowdary Yenigella
Scenic Mountain Medical Center gets new CEO
Mallik Chowdary Yenigella has been named the new chief executive officer of Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas.
Yenigella came to the facility in 2019, and now he takes the reins of a 146-bed hospital.
Stacey L. Brown, CEO of Odessa Regional Medical Center, said Yenigella is well-suited for the role.
“Mallik’s dedication and strategic vision have strengthened our commitment to high-quality care. I’m confident he will continue to drive meaningful progress for the hospital and the communities it serves,” Brown said in a statement.
Scenic Mountain Medical Center is part of Quorum Health. Anthony Roberts, chief operating officer of Quorum Health, also touted Yenigella’s strengths.
“We are confident that Mallik will continue to drive innovation and enhance patient care as CEO, and we look forward to all that will be accomplished in the years ahead,” Roberts said in a statement.
