Orlando, Florida – The HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition drew more than 30,000 attendees and featured hundreds of discussions, so how do you sum it up in two minutes?

The conference featured discussions covering varying aspects of the industry, including interoperability and digital health. But as the conference wraps up today, it’s safe to say that AI and cybersecurity generated the most discussion.
Hackensack Meridian Health CEO Robert Garrett talked about AI’s potential to improve the health of billions worldwide. Experts also said AI tools could ease burdens on clinicians. Many also talked about the need to ensure appropriate ethical considerations in expanding the use of AI.
With the Change Healthcare cyberattack affecting providers, cybersecurity loomed as an even bigger topic. Cybersecurity experts also talked about the growing danger of cyberattacks, which have become disturbingly common in healthcare even before the Change Healthcare attack.
