She will lead Endeavor’s five local foundations and will have the responsibility of expanding the health system’s donor base.

Kim possesses over 18 years of leadership experience in philanthropy. Most recently, she served as the chief advancement officer for Chicago Public Media, home of The Chicago Sun-Times and WBEZ Radio.

She also previously lead fundraising for The Brookings Institution, a nonprofit organization in Washington D.C. She also held several roles across Harvard University including the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Kim will report to Joe Dant, president of Endeavor Health’s south region.

“Lucy is a dynamic leader who is joining Endeavor Health in this inaugural role,” Dant said in a statement. “Her experience leading fundraising strategy across diverse industries, developing talent and collaborating with leaders and donors will be invaluable as we work to transform and grow our philanthropic efforts in both our local markets and across our geography.”

American Hospital Association names deputy cybersecurity adviser

James “Scott” Gee has been named deputy national advisor for cybersecurity and risk of the American Hospital Association.

Gee will work with John Riggi, the AHA’s national advisor for cybersecurity and risk, to develop priorities to help hospitals protect themselves from ransomware attacks. The AHA helps individual hospitals but also shares information and guidance on cybersecurity threats and best practices with the entire industry.

Most recently, Gee served as cyber incident response manager at Microsoft. Gee also served with the U.S. Secret Service for 22 years, and he worked on cyber and investigative operations. He also served on details protecting the president and vice president.

“Cybersecurity attacks, especially ransomware attacks, are occurring at an alarming pace, posing risks to every hospital, the patients they care for and the communities they serve,” Riggi said in a statement. “Scott brings a deep knowledge of cyber threat prevention, detection, response and mitigation, which is critical for defending against and minimizing the impact of these attacks.”
